Fuji 70R with Console: A Blend of Elegance and Functionality

The inspiration for the Fuji 70R with console came from a meticulous research aimed at developing a simple yet characterful product. The design emphasizes Scarabeo's commitment to high-quality products, with a focus on soft surfaces and a graphic element that lends strong personality to the sink. The product line is completed with a console, towel rack, mirror, and shelf.

What sets this design apart is its elegant form that creates emotion through smooth and graphic lines, while maintaining high functionality. The choice of materials and precision of the manufacturing process ensure a high-quality product. Ceramic, a low-tech material, is used in a high-tech manner, softening its outlines and hiding the drain hole with a ceramic plate. The console, made of steel bar, mirrors the charm and elegance of the sink, with a wooden shelf added to create a cozier bathroom system.

The basin is made of ceramic, the console table of iron-rod, and the shelf of solid wood. The console table serves multiple purposes, acting as a support for the basin, a towel bar, and a countertop for towels or other items. The wash basin measures 700 x 430 x 140, and the console table 790 x 440 x 750.

The design project began in July 2013 in Vittorio Veneto and concluded in April 2014. It was exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in April 2014. The design process involved distinguishing the design language of main competitors and comparing it with Scarabeo's, identifying unexplored areas for the company to work with. The aim was to design a simple yet unusual object, with a touch of humor and femininity. After extensive sketching, Fuji emerged as the best solution to fill the gaps in the company's portfolio.

One of the main challenges during the design process was the development of the concept. As Scarabeo is an artisanal company, 3D files were not the right format for them. The designers had to print the projects and work alongside the craftsmen to create the first prototype that closely resembled the concept. The quality of the product is a result of careful material selection, including ceramic, steel bar, and solid oak wood, and precision in the manufacturing process.

The Fuji 70R with console is a hypnotizing, balanced, essential, pure, velvety, functional, elegant, and protagonist design that has earned its place in the world of design. Its award-winning status is a testament to its marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creation that reflects the designer's prodigy and wisdom.
